As part of the process DeckView selected Xero as it’s cloud based accounting software.
Managing 40+ jobs at a time became a burden for Google Sheets and the vestigial Excel tools once employed by the developing company. The methods certainly wouldn’t handle another similar growth spurt.
A more efficient system would have to be found.
Quest: To find software capable of handling the rapid growth of the company while:
- managing many simultaneous projects across the country, their teams and supply lines
- providing installation teams intuitive mobile access to critical data
- scheduling capacity for management staff
- seamless integration of jobs, inventory and accounting
- inventory tracking with BOM capacity (Bill of Materials: an inventory system that automatically draws down components as a widget is built)
- financially secure and stable SaaS providers (SaaS: software as a service – typically the acronym associated with cloud based software)
MMC has deep experience in manufacturing, inventory control, distribution and logistics.
Our review process quickly shortlisted on one hand GeoOp and Unleashed, for job management and inventory respectively; and on the other, TidyWork and TidyStock by Silicone Avenue.
Both combinations provided the full functionality sought by DeckView.
In the end we settled on TidyWork and TidyStock, a decision narrowly won by the software’s ease of use around real time profit/loss per job reporting, greater team scheduling capacity, and the security of one SaaS company rather than the two independent providers behind GeoOp and Unleashed.
